Inpatient Food Pantry

The Inpatient Food Pantry ensures that patients have access to healthy meal options after leaving the hospital. Eligible patients receive food boxes at the time of their discharge, customized to their dietary needs.

Community Paramedic

The Community Paramedic Program provides at-home care for medium-to-high risk patients to reduce the likelihood of readmission. These ongoing wellness interventions empower patients to manage their health and minimize unnecessary Emergency Room visits.

Patient Assistance

Some patients experience financial challenges while receiving medical care. The Foundation can help patients cover the cost of medications, medical equipment, transportation assistance, home safety modifications and more.

Recovery Support Services

The Foundation partners with the Emergency Department and Coastal Plain Hospital to support patients with substance use and mental health disorders, offering immediate behavioral health support and resources for recovery. Funds support a Certified Peer Support Specialist and expand outpatient resources, including care kits for patients discharged from the ED and CPH.

The UNC Health Nash Foundation continues to support patient assistance programs throughout the hospital with other designated funds.
